A New Era for Data Privacy:
Insights from the ETSI Data Conference: With the rapid rise of AI, the way we manage our digital footprint has never been more critical. We are thrilled to share that Isabella de Michelis, CEO of ErnieApp, recently took the stage at the ETSI AI and Data Conference in Sophia Antipolis on February 9th.
During her presentation, “Standardizing the Human-Centric Data Economy,” Isabella highlighted a pivotal shift: as AI models become more integrated into our lives, we must prioritize consumer-friendly interfaces. Managing consents and data-sharing permissions shouldn’t be a chore—it should be an intuitive, transparent experience that puts the user back in the driver’s seat.
The Power of Global Collaboration
While ETSI plays a vital role in shaping these standards for Europe, the mission for a secure data ecosystem is a global team effort. At ErnieApp, we believe in a unified approach. We are proud to highlight the work being done by other Standards Development Organizations (SSOs), particularly the ITU-T.
ITU-T is heavily invested in these same challenges, and we actively support their initiatives through our participation in technical working groups. These groups represent a truly global effort, featuring participation from:
- Global Industry Leaders: Innovators from the private sector worldwide.
- Government Delegations: Including key representatives from the US, China, Korea, and beyond.
Building the Trust Model for Agentic AI
As we move toward Agentic AI—where AI agents perform autonomous operations on behalf of users—the need for a shared “Trust Model” is paramount. We are encouraged by the increasing alignment between ETSI and ITU-T in developing these frameworks.
We at ErnieApp deeply appreciate the commitment of both organizations to work together on an interoperable trust model. This collaboration is essential to ensure that Agentic AI operations remain secure, accountable, and, above all, respectful of user sovereignty.
Together, we are making data privacy accessible and trustable for the AI age.
