About the role
We are looking for a talented Data Engineer / Analytics Engineer to modernize our analytics infrastructure by migrating complex reporting workloads from production systems to a modern analytics platform. You will play a key role in reverse-engineering existing reporting logic, gathering business and technical requirements, and designing a scalable and future-proof data architecture using components of the Modern Data Stack.
This role involves close collaboration with technical leadership and business stakeholders to ensure alignment between analytical capabilities and strategic objectives.
What You’ll Do
- Reverse-engineer existing SQL queries used for KPI and user behavior tracking from our production operational databases.
- Analyze and consolidate reporting requirements, leveraging application documentation, live queries, and event data (e.g. Firebase).
- Design and implement a robust, cloud-based analytics platform, including scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and well-structured data models.
- Ensure data discoverability and usability by enabling intuitive reporting solutions for non-technical users (e.g., through BI tools).
- Collaborate with technical leads, product managers, and marketing teams to deliver actionable insights that support decision-making.
What You Bring
- Strong analytical mindset and ability to distill complex logic into clean, reusable data models.
- Excellent communication skills to work effectively across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Initiative-driven: able to identify opportunities for improvement and propose effective solutions.
- Strategic thinker with hands-on execution capabilities and ownership mindset.
- Solid experience in modern data architecture, including cloud-native data platforms or Data Lakehouse solutions.
- Proficiency in advanced SQL, with proven experience optimizing complex reporting queries.
- Deep knowledge of AWS-based analytics tools (e.g. Redshift, Glue, Athena, QuickSight) or equivalent cloud services.
- Hands-on experience designing and maintaining ETL/ELT workflows using modern orchestration tools.
- Familiarity with event-based data sources, such as Firebase Analytics, and how to integrate them into analytics pipelines.
Why Join Us
- This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of data within our organization, laying the foundation for a scalable, transparent, and reliable analytics environment.
- You’ll work alongside skilled engineers and business experts, in a culture that values autonomy, innovation, and impact.
- Your contributions will directly influence our product growth and strategic direction.
